Summary

Nanion has been helping scientists at pharma companies, contract research organisations (CROs) and universities accelerate their research since 2002. To support their continued success and growth, they partnered with CBC to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of their brand.

Tasked with helping Nanion tell the world how their technologies and teams bring value to their clients, we collaborated closely to redefine their brand strategy, identity and communications – and reinforce their position as customer-centric leaders in life science research.

About Nanion Technologies

Nanion is a developer of electrophysiological analysis instruments designed to help with ion channel drug discovery and screening. The company combines trusted scientific expertise with world-class patch clamp technology to expedite successful drug development and scientific discoveries. Their broad range of applications and user-friendly assay solutions can be tailored to their clients’ needs to speed up research projects which ultimately improve lives.

Challenge
Nanion has grown rapidly over the past two decades, leveraging their outstanding reputation for making and supplying excellent automated patch clamp solutions.

To keep pace with their rapid business growth and expanded capabilities, Nanion had experimented with evolutions of their brand identity but recognized the need to now partner with a B2B branding and communications specialist to better reflect their status today as pioneering leaders in their field – positioning themselves more clearly and consistently as invaluable research accelerators for all the types of client they support.
Solution
Having listened carefully to Nanion’s needs, interviewed several of their customers across global key markets, studied their brand situation and prioritized their requirements, CBC prepared a strategic brand and communication development plan.

The first stage of our involvement updated and sharpened their brand strategy by revisiting their brand promise, value proposition and key messaging. We evolved their brand identity with a logo and CVI, designed a more contemporary and ownable layout style, created a distinct and compelling tone of voice, and developed a brand communications concept crystalized in their new tagline: Accelerate your research.

As part of our brand activation plan, we also created a new website UX and completed the website development while developing brand guidelines to ensure greater alignment and consistency in all their brand messaging, and across all communication touchpoints going forward.
